The difference for work hard or work smart is basically the same thing we used to learn in school, learn hard or learn smart. Practically, work hard is working really hard without strategy, just doing the stuff over and over without any skills. Work smart is working with proper strategy and knowing what you are doing, and most of the time working smart will develop an affection to the work. For example, doing a great task such as data gathering is a really hard work, and working hard is just doing it by yourself. Working smart is doing the same task with a lot of helping hands, lets say, household members, or neighbours, colleague, maybe your sports club? Sharing the survey questions when you are doing a simple gathering, and in the end, you saved a lot of times going house to house. Work smart is a better and more efficient comparing to work hard. But if I have to choose, the culprits would be the leaders, because the leaders play the main role of leading the followers. Most of the times, a good followers have a great leader. But rare case happens with a great follower with a bad leader. Vice versa. As a leader, we are not just leading a good leadership series by campaigning, by teaching, by motivating.
